Phase 1~4 of the Dangjin Combined Cycle Power Plants generate electricity through two major steps.

First, gas turbine generators generate electricity. Second, the exhaust heat from the first step is used to make steam through the Heat Recovery Steam Generator to generate additional electricity via the steam turbine. This is called combined cycle power plant since the combusted natural gas is generated over 2 times.

Phase 3 adapted the latest H-Class gas turbine for the very first time in Asia which has more than 60% efficiency (LHV standard).

The main fuel is bio-energy such as wood, etc.

This generating unit will be the Largest Biomass Power Plant in Asia.

Biomass is a biological material from living, or recently living organisms, most often referring to plants or plant-derived materials. As a renewable energy source, biomass can be used as fuel of a power plant.

Hydrogen is the most common fuel, but hydrocarbons such as natural gas and alcohols like methanol are sometimes used. Fuel cells are different from batteries in that they require a constant source of fuel and oxygen to run, but they can produce electricity continually for as long as these inputs are supplied.
